    Concept

"You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation." (Platon)

Following Platon's quote, we will play plenty of hours (old school/new wave, offline/online, cooperative/competitive, outdoor/indoor, static/dynamic, with and without tools) in order to get to know:

    - ourselves better / play as a tool of self reflection

    - the members of the training course / play as a tool of cognition

    - the game mechanics / play as an expression of motivation and needs

The aim to go through on these stages is to get more prepared how and what to play with your youngsters, to be more aware of what you can learn about your youth via playing and how you can support them with different games or playful activities.
In order to reach these further goals at the second training course, we will design and create new games according to the needs of participants' local youth groups.

As an animator and a camp leader I had the chance to play with kids a lot, and learn from them how important is to play with all of our senses and presence.

As a trainer and facilitator I have the chance to see the differences between games and playful activities, and how easily we can forget how to play as we step into adulthood.

As a serious player, I'm keep looking for possibilities to play old games and discover new one, or create some.

Coming from a big family and finding my vocation as a youth worker in a foster home, I became more and more curious about playing. The years spent playing with kids, youngsters and adults taught me a lot. So did the time while working for an IT company and getting a glimpse of gamification. As a facilitator, I am still learning, playing and discovering the easiness and connection playfulness can create..
